New Student Enrollment

If your family is new to MVSD, create a Skyward Family Access account to sign up and begin the online enrollment process. As you complete the enrollment application, you'll be able to scan and attach the required documents — or bring them to your child's school office and staff will make copies. This step is required to complete the application.

If you already have other children enrolled in MVSD, sign in to your existing Skyward Family Access account and add the new student from there. No need to create a new account.

Paper packets are available below in English, Spanish, and Russian. Complete the forms and return them to your child's school office or to the District Office at 124 E. Lawrence Street.

• Kindergarten: child must be at least 5 years old by August 31
• First grade: child must be at least 6 years old by August 31
• Transition to Kindergarten (TTK): child must be 4 years old by August 31 — see the TTK program page for details

Washington state law requires all children ages 8 through 17 to attend a public school, an approved private school, or to receive approved home-based instruction. Younger children enrolled in school must attend regularly once registered.

Under the federal McKinney-Vento Act, students experiencing homelessness have the right to enroll immediately, even without typical documents.
