Mount Vernon School District Seeks Applicants for Director District 1 Board Vacancy

The Mount Vernon School District Board of Directors is seeking qualified residents to fill a vacancy representing Director District 1 following the resignation of Dr. Laura Cailloux.

Interested individuals are invited to complete an application and submit it to the District Administration Building no later than 4:30 p.m. on Friday, June 12.

To be eligible for appointment, applicants must:

• Be a permanent resident of the Mount Vernon School District.
• Reside within the Director District 1 boundaries.

The selected candidate will serve by appointment until the next regular school board election. The position will appear on the November 2027 ballot.

We thank Director Cailloux for her many years of leadership and service to the students, families and staff in the Mount Vernon School District. Her compassion, expertise, and care has been a valuable asset to the district and she will be missed as a board member.
