The Foster Care Program at OSPI supports students in foster care by encouraging innovative practices that reduce educational disruptions, strengthen school stability, and improve academic performance.

*Child Welfare Agency has PLACEMENT & CARE responsibility
School of Origin

School in which the child is enrolled at the time of placement

The child must remain in the school of origin until a determination is made

If foster home placement changes, the school of origin is school enrolled at the time of placement change
Identification

DCYF is required to provide when placement changes
If you are a social worker or a case manager for a newly placed foster student within Mount Vernon School District who will need services, please fill out the School Notification Form and email to MANNY ESPINOZA .
