5th grade families,

This year, we have made the decision to send Chromebooks home with students in grades 2 through 4 to support their learning during the break. In an effort to maintain accurate inventory,  with 5th grade students moving from one building to the next, we will not be able to offer them the same option to 5th graders. 

To ensure that students receive the necessary support during the summer, we have created two options:  

If your 5th grade student is enrolled in enrichment activities like summer school, they will have the opportunity to check out a Chromebook through their respective program. They will be required to return the device at the end of the program, and upon entering middle school, they will be assigned a new Chromebook.

If your 5th grader student is not connected to a district enrichment program, they will still have the opportunity to check out a Chromebook from our Operations Facility located at 2101 Cleveland Ave, Mount Vernon, WA 98273. These devices will be configured in a way that allows them to keep it as they transition into middle school. There will be no need for it to be returned at the end of the summer. Please call the Mount Vernon School District Help Desk at 360-428-6252 before arriving to ensure a device is ready and available. Additionally, to help eliminate travel and scheduling barriers we will be sending out a future communication with options for picking up a Chromebook at our school locations during the summer.

Estudiantes para padres de 5º grado,

Este año, hemos tomado la decisión de enviar Chromebooks a casa con los estudiantes en los grados 2 a 4 para apoyar su aprendizaje durante las vacaciones del verano.  En un esfuerzo por mantener un inventario preciso, con los estudiantes de 5 grado moviéndose de un edificio a otro, no seríamos capaces de ofrecerles la misma opción a los alumnos de 5º grado.

Para asegurar que los estudiantes reciban el apoyo necesario durante el verano, hemos creado dos opciones:

Si su estudiante de quinto grado está inscrito en actividades de enriquecimiento como la escuela de verano, tendrá la oportunidad de agarrar un Chromebook a través de su programa respectivo. Se les pedirá que los devuelvan al final del programa y, al ingresar a la escuela intermedia, se les asignará un nuevo Chromebook.

Si su estudiante de quinto grado no está conectado a un programa de enriquecimiento del distrito, aún tendrá la oportunidad de agarrar un Chromebook de nuestras Oficina de Instalaciones de Operaciones ubicadas en 2101 Cleveland Ave, Mount Vernon, WA 98273. Estos Chromebooks se configurarán de manera que les permite mantenerlo mientras hacen la transición a la escuela intermedia. No habrá necesidad de devolverlo al final del verano. Llame Distrito Escolar de Mount Vernon, línea de ayuda al 360-428-6252 antes de llegar para asegurarse de que un Chromebook esté listo y disponible.
