MTSS — Multi-Tiered System of Support
Mount Vernon's Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) is the framework we use to make sure every student gets the right level of academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support — not based on who asks loudest, but based on what the data says they need. Our core beliefs about MTSS
MTSS at Mount Vernon is grounded in five core beliefs that shape how we think about teaching and learning:
- Equity matters. Every student deserves access to high-quality instruction and support — no exceptions.
- School climate matters. Students learn best when they feel safe, valued, and connected.
- Professional collaboration matters. Teachers, specialists, and leaders make better decisions when they make them together.
- Open communication matters. Families are essential partners. We work to make information accessible and to listen well.
- Responsible stewardship matters. We use data, time, and resources thoughtfully — with our students' future in mind.
