Student Support Center

The Student Support Center — affectionately known as the Blue House behind LaVenture Middle School — is a free after-school program for Mount Vernon students who want extra help with homework, organization, and study skills in a welcoming, supportive setting.

Students walk over after dismissal, get a snack, and settle in with adult tutors and peer mentors who can help with assignments, project work, or anything they're stuck on. The center serves middle school students primarily but is open to elementary and high school students with arrangements through their school office.
